Accuracy and sourcing
We check facts before publication and name our sources. When a story builds on another news organisation’s reporting, we say so and link to it.
Editing and approval
Every News Africa story is reviewed by an editor before it is published.
Use of AI tools
We use AI tools to help research topics and prepare first drafts. They never publish anything. An editor checks every fact, quote and source, and we do not use AI to invent quotes, people or events. Images are News Africa graphics, photos we have the right to use, or openly licensed photos credited with their creator, licence and source.
Stories from other publishers
Some headlines in our sections come from other news organisations. They show the publisher’s name, link to the original story, and are not written by News Africa.
Independence
News Africa is independent. Advertising never decides what we cover, and we label anything that is sponsored.
