VeryDarkMan and Blord were both at the Federal High Court on Wednesday, but the matter was not heard. VDM then sent a direct warning to Omoyele Sowore.

Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan, showed up at the Federal High Court in Abuja on Wednesday for his case against businessman Linus Ifejirika, popularly called Blord. He left with a warning for Omoyele Sowore.

Blord was there. Court didn't sit

In a video he recorded right outside the courtroom, VDM said Blord had also made it to court but left when the case wasn't called.

"I'm currently at the federal high court because of my case with Blord. He was here, but he had to leave because the court didn't sit," VDM said. The clip has been doing rounds on social media since.

VeryDarkMan goes after Sowore

Then VDM turned his attention to Sowore. The activist and former presidential candidate had earlier vowed to get Blord released and have the case thrown out. VDM did not hold back.

"This is a message to Omoyele Sowore. Like I said, you have no power to end this case. No whine yourself. You cannot end a case that involves VeryDarkMan," he said.

This is the latest twist in a fight that has stretched for months. Sowore waded into it back in April after Blord ended up at Kuje Correctional Centre. He called it an injustice and said he would do whatever it takes to free him.

How the VeryDarkMan and Blord fight started

VDM accused Blord of using his image and his trademark "Ratel" for business without asking. He said Blord put his face on billboards and flyers, including one that claimed a fake N500 million endorsement. The dispute quickly moved from social media to the courts.

Police arrested Blord and took him before Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia at the Federal High Court in Abuja on April 1, 2026. The court read charges of criminal impersonation, forgery, and identity theft against him. He pleaded not guilty. The judge remanded him at Kuje for 16 days. He secured bail on April 17 after Sowore and others pushed for his release.

Since his release, the case has dragged on with no end in sight. Wednesday's adjournment without a sitting means it remains unresolved. This is not unusual for high-profile cases in Nigeria, where court schedules often clash with the availability of judges and legal teams.

Social media reacts to VeryDarkMan

The video drew a wave of reactions on X. Some people backed VDM. Others asked why the case is still running.

"No be to find relevance be this? The case never end since?" one person wrote. Another said: "The way this guy sees himself like God eeeeh."

A few questioned why Sowore got involved. "The reason why Sowore involved himself is what I don't know," a comment read. The mixed reactions show how divided Nigerians remain on the matter.

Blord has kept quiet since he got out. People close to him say he is focused on his businesses and his legal team. Neither Blord nor Sowore had responded to VeryDarkMan's latest comments at the time of this report.

What happens next at the Federal High Court Abuja

The court did not sit on Wednesday, so the case rolls to the next adjourned date. Both men are still on bail. How this ends at the Federal High Court Abuja could set a precedent for how digital identity theft and trademark fights involving Nigerian social media influencers play out in court.
